Personal: Dr. Allen is in his second year as the Academic Advisor for student-athletes at Winston-Salem State University. Prior to joining the Department of Athletics he worked in various different administrative and student services capacities at Thomas Nelson Community College in Hampton, VA; St. Philip's College in San Antonio, TX; Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA and The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA. Prior to his appointment as Academic Advisor for Student-Athletes, he served as Director of Undergraduate Admissions at WSSU and enrolled the two largest freshman classes in the university's history.

Dr. Allen and his wife Carolyn are the proud parents of their son, Saiid.
