Personal:James Davis is honored as an outstanding football player. He was an All-CIAA selection as a wide receiver in 1974 at Winston-Salem State University. He finished his career as the Rams all-time leading receiver with 99 career receptions and 1,398 yards. He was a four year letterman and an NAIA College Division All-American in 1974. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health and Physical Education. He was employed as a teacher and coach in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System following his graduation from WSSU.
