COMPLETE RESULTS

ORANGEBURG, S.C. - The Winston-Salem State University men's golf team earned a seventh-place finish at the 2008 South Carolina State University Bulldog Golf Classic on Sunday afternoon as they posted a team total of 326 in a rain-shortened event that saw Saturday's first-round suspended due to inclement weather.

The Rams were led by Joshua Sherrell who finished 18^th with a team-leading round of 76 (39-37).  Sherell was the only WSSU team member to earn a top-20 finish as he helped the Rams to a team aggregate total of 326 en route to the seventh-place team finish as he closed out the competition with a round of four over par.

Bethune-Cookman University's Troy Coker earned individual medalist honors with a round of 67 as he recorded a five under par performance, two strokes ahead of Savannah State's Spencer Slade who earned silver medalist honors with a 69.

In addition to capturing individual medalist honors, and placing two golfers in the top three spots, the Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman earned the team title as they finished with a team total of 289, three strokes ahead of Savannah State and Florida A&M who closed out play deadlocked in a tie for second with a team total of 292.

The Rams return to action on Monday and Tuesday, April 7-8 as they participate in the Brevard College Golf Invitational.
