The Rams, fresh off of competition at the South Carolina State University Bulldog Golf Invitational over the weekend where they earned a seventh-place finish, returned to action on Monday afternoon as they took to the course at Etowah Valley Golf Club's South Course, a par 72, 6,880-yard course that has earned distinction as one of Golf Digest's Top-100 golf destinations.
Monday's action saw the Rams post a team total of 356 as Joshua Sherrell led all WSSU team members with a 10-over par round of 82. Not far behind was Lance Holmes with a round of 84 as he and Sherrell were the only two Rams to record rounds in the 80's.
Zachary Yelder posted a 94, Steven Mason tallied a 96 and Jerrell Fields closed out the scoring with a round of 97.
Kenneth Lathan participated in the competition unattached as he turned in a score card bearing a round of 98.
The Rams' total of 356 earns them an 11th-place seeding headed into Tuesday's final round at Etowah Valley G.C.
