Final Stats

FIRST ROUND RESULTS

ETOWAH, N.C. - The Winston-Salem State University Rams men's golf team posted a team aggregate total of 356 en route to finishing first round action in 11^th place on Monday afternoon at the Second Annual Independent Collegiate Golf Invitational hosted by Brevard College played at Etowah Valley Golf Club in Etowah, N.C.

The Rams, fresh off of competition at the South Carolina State University Bulldog Golf Invitational over the weekend where they earned a seventh-place finish, returned to action on Monday afternoon as they took to the course at Etowah Valley Golf Club's South Course, a par 72, 6,880-yard course that has earned distinction as one of Golf Digest's Top-100 golf destinations. 

Monday's action saw the Rams post a team total of 356 as Joshua Sherrell led all WSSU team members with a 10-over par round of 82.  Not far behind was Lance Holmes with a round of 84 as he and Sherrell were the only two Rams to record rounds in the 80's.

Zachary Yelder posted a 94, Steven Mason tallied a 96 and Jerrell Fields closed out the scoring with a round of 97. 

Kenneth Lathan participated in the competition unattached as he turned in a score card bearing a round of 98.

The Rams' total of 356 earns them an 11^th-place seeding headed into Tuesday's final round at Etowah Valley G.C.
