Feb. 25, 2008

Complete Results

BLACKSBURG, VA - Finishing strong has been one of the principles of the Winston-Salem State track and field teams and that's what the squad did Saturday in their final indoor meet of the season. The Rams middle distance and field athletes took center stage and had some solid performances against some of top athletes in the country and made themselves known.

WSSU junior high jumper Nathan Summerville had the best finish of the day for the Rams, clearing 6'4.25" and placing 12th in the men's high jump. He left behind athletes from Tennessee, Virginia, and St. Paul's. Sophomore James Legins, III placed 37th in the men's long jump with leap of 21'6.25".

The Virginia Tech Challenge put a bow on the 2008 indoor season for the Rams. The team will not have long to rest, however, as they will open the outdoor season on March 6th when they take part in the Florida A&M Invitational in Tallahassee, FL.
