TALLAHASSEE, FL - The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams had some struggles against some old foes and some new ones, Saturday when they faced a pair of former CIAA foes as well as three Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference foes in match play of the Releaser's Invitational hosted by Florida A&M University. The Lady Rams went winless in match play against former CIAA foes Fayetteville State and North Carolina Central as well as taking losses to current MEAC foes South Carolina State, Norfolk State, and Bethune-Cookman.
The squad opened match play taking a 703-582 loss to South Carolina State. The Lady Rams got into a groove in the second game, but could not match Fayetteville State, 815-704. The Lady Rams returned to face their second MEAC opponent of the day, falling to Norfolk State, 753-642. The Lady Rams played Bethune-Cookman close, falling to the Lady Wildcats, 654-636. A match up with North Carolina Central would end the day for the Lady Rams with the team taking a 665-618 loss to the Lady Eagles.
The Lady Rams will wrap up the tournament with Baker games play on Sunday.
