Lady Rams Post Winless Morning On Second Day Of SCSU Bowling Invitational

SUMTER, SC - Fresh off of a day in which they posted an impressive 2-3 overall record, the Lady Rams bowling team posted a winless Sunday on the final day of competition from the South Carolina State University Lady Bulldogs Bowling Invitational on Sunday in Sumter, SC on Sunday.

 

The Lady Rams started the morning with a 4-0 loss to Norfolk State in the Baker Match portion of the competition as WSSU dropped four consecutive games by the scores of 113-159, 141-150, 113-158 and 116-122 to fall to 0-1 on the day.

 

WSSU moved on to Bethune-Cookman University in the second action of the morning and the result was identical as BCU swept the Lady Rams 4-0 by the scores of 128-137 134-199, 109-157 and 110-130 as WSSU dropped to 0-2 on the day.

 

Next up for WSSU was the host-team Lady Bulldogs of South Carolina State University who dispatched WSSU 4-0 for the third consecutive match.  The Lady Bulldogs, fresh off of a loss to WSSU on Saturday, swept WSSU 120-135, 127-145, 138-198, and 133-158.

 

Trailing 3-0 on the day, the Lady Rams posted an impressive six-game Baker Match marathon as WSSU fell to Florida A&M 4-2 to drop to 0-4 on the day when the Lady Rattlers defeated WSSU 107-195, 121-140,164-159, 172-163, 116-181, and 97-154 to drop WSSU to 0-4 on the day.

 

The day's final action saw WSSU drop a 4-0 decision to arch-rival North Carolina A&T as the Aggies defeated WSSU 170-191, 134-171, 77-132 and 112-181 to round out the day.

 

The losses dropped WSSU to 2-8 overall on the weekend as WSSU heads home for five weeks of match inactivity as WSSU returns to action on January 12, 2008 as they host the first-ever WSSU Lady Rams Bowling Invitational.

 

"We had a rough day on Sunday, but our young team is truly progressing and learning every day.  We are progressing well and we hope to really show our fans how talented we are at the Lady Rams Bowling Invitational in January" WSSU head bowling coach Michael Jackson said via phone on Sunday.
