Final Stats

ORANGEBURG, SC - The South Carolina State University Lady Bulldogs downed the Lady Rams tennis team on Saturday evening by the score of 7-0 in women's tennis action from Orangeburg, S.C.

The Lady Bulldogs earned the doubles point as Marcela Rodenzo and Mirian Cruz (SCSTATE) defeated Johanna Nunez and Shannon Loughnan (WSSUW) 8-0 at first doubles; Andrea Davidova and Daria Sekerina (SCSTATE) defeated Terese Lavan and Gabrielle Benjamin (WSSUW) 8-0 at second doubles; and Sarai Torres and Iveta Blodniece (SCSTATE) defeated Jade Heggins and Jessica Smith (WSSUW) 8-1 at third doubles en route to the doubles point.

The Lady Bulldogs swept the Lady Rams in all six singles matches as South Carolina State dropped the first and second singles matches in straight sets and the Lady Rams dropped the final four singles matches in pro-set losses.

The loss drops the Lady Rams to 1-10 overall while the Lady Bulldogs improved to 3-1 overall with the win.

WSSU returns to action on Sunday at 2:00 pm as they face the Lady Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman University.
