Lady Rams Take 3-0 Loss to North Carolina Central

Final Stats

DURHAM, NC - The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (4-20) ran into some more road struggles, Tuesday when the team took a 3-0 loss to the North Carolina Central Eagles (18-10). The loss was the team's third straight road loss and fourth in a row.

 

The WSSU defense struggled mightily in the match notching just one total team block and allowing 50 kills to the Eagles. For the match, the WSSU opponents racked up a .392 attack percentage. Junior Valentina Pushkina led the WSSU defensive effort with seven digs. The Lady Rams offense was hampered by an NCCU defense that totaled five team blocks and 46 digs, limiting the Lady Rams to just 30 kills. Sophomore Annika Barnwell led the way with 12 kills in the match. She was the only Lady Ram to reach double-digit kills in the match. Freshman Ashley Harris added six kills.

 

The Lady Rams will next head south to Daytona, FL to take on the Bethune-Cookman Lady Wildcats, Friday.
