Final Stats

NORFOLK, VA - The offense was hard to find for the Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (4-25), who took a 3-0 loss to the Norfolk State Spartans (7-25), Friday evening. The Lady Rams struggled with a -.044 hitting percentage in the match and sorely missed leading scorer Annika Barnwell.

As a team, the Lady Rams totaled just 22 kills in the match, five fewer than the team's 27 attack errors. Four Lady Ram attackers finished the match with negative hitting percentages. The team also struggled with 13 total receiving errors in the loss. Junior Brandie Beane stepped up for the Lady Rams switching from her normal middle blocker position to split setting duties with fellow junior Valentina Pushkina. Pushkina led the WSSU attack with seven kills and nine assists in the loss while Beane added nine assists and 10 digs in the match. She also added three kills.

The Lady Rams will wrap up the 2007 season when they face Piedmont Triad rival North Carolina A&T in a Tuesday season finale for both teams at 6:00 p.m. at the Corbett Sports Center in Greensboro, NC.
